In a somewhat surprising announcement, Nadex reportedly raised the amount of capital required for their initial minimum deposit. Since their beginnings, Nadex has only required $100 to get a Live account started. Effective August 26, 2016, the minimum deposit amount is $250.
Since this more than doubles the required amount, it may seem like quite a jump, but when compared to what is required to begin trading in other venues, this amount is still reasonable.
For example, between $600 and $7000 is typically required to trade futures. To trade micro- or mini- Forex accounts, $300 to $5,000 is recommended. Day- trading equities in the US requires a minimum of $25,000. After these initial deposits, traders will still need to have more money available for margin accounts, which are not necessary when trading Nadex.
Nadex’s initial minimum deposit of $250 will continue to allow traders access to the markets with a minimal investment.
