Minimum Premium Needed to Trade

#1

Hi Everyone, I am looking to trade daily Iron Condors on the indicies, and I am wondering what the minimum amount of premium (per leg/total) you look to collect on each of the indicies before trading?

For example, ES was only at about $22 in premium per leg of the daily spreads, which was way down from last week, where it was in the $50 range.

Thanks!

I dont have any experience with the TF or YM daily spreads.

Tried ES a couple times… I think $40 on each side would be ideal.

Was this Friday that you saw the $50 range?? That was because of the Non Farm Payroll Report being release later that morning. I dont think that is the norm for it though.

With NQ… if you can get around $90 on each side, then unless the market goes crazy in the middle of the night, you should have at least some profit in the morning.

You will have to do some demo testing to see how it works for you . But i would look for premium on each side that match at least the .5 deviation move amount up and down to try to get premiums that will keep you at least at that range
