After 2 trades early in the morning netted a total of 8 ticks profit, it was a welcome site to see this swing trade go for 30 ticks. I had to be patient, but the trade prevailed.

My question is about swing trades on Nadex spreads. I was just watching the swing trade video in the IZSS course, and he said 10 ticks = $100. However, if you’re trading on Nadex, isn’t 10 ticks just $10? Plus you have to overcome the bid/offer spread. Are these quick scalp trades not a good idea for Nadex?
1 tick on NQ futures is $5. Because of the bid/ask difference, you will not see a $10 profit on spreads when the futures instrument moves 10 ticks. I used to scalp trade with spreads (NTMs) and was able to get $5 to $7 profit on a 10 tick move.
Bill, I do a fair amount of the swing trades on YM and I just set a limit order for a 10 tick profit. It may take the underlying to move 12 - 14 ticks. But, keep in mind, that is the risk I personally am willing to take.

…and yes, it is just $10, but they are all over the chart and it adds up.
