I’m definitely in need of upgrading my trading computer as well. Thanks for the links Darrell but I have a quick question for you and I know this will be different for everyone depending on their needs but what processor would you recommend an Intel i5 or an i7? I’ll mainly be using this for your indicators and templates in ninja trader. Not sure if this is true or not but I heard ninja trader was not able to utilize hyperthreading so I was wondering if getting an i7 would make much of a difference over an i5 and if anyone had any experience in that?

The reason I’m asking is because I’m going to be building my trading computer on my own and looking for the best possible components but I don’t want to pay more for something that I can even utilize in trading. I know i7 processors are good for video rendering and working with 3-D but I won’t need any of that. I’ll just be running ninjatrader and your tick charts which on my computer drain it a lot and pretty much freezes it LOL.

I’ve seen some guys recommend i5 and have their trading computers with that processor but they are not using your templates and indicators. So just wondering if any other Apex members are running an i5 and are having no issues. Thanks guys

I would get the i7 for sure. Apex indicators can take a long time to load. I wish I had gone with i7 to start but tried to save some money. Bad mistake. NT 8 will some year come out but until then you need all the power you can get. I can start ninja up load my workspace and go cook and east breakfast. Can be frustrating especially after you clear cache and it has to load everything from the start. My workspace does have 18 charts on 3 monitors so of course that does make a difference.
