The template BinaryTC3tick was put in the toolkit with all the proper settings for utilizing the trend catcher with the Elite pattern for 5-minute binaries. However, there are a couple of settings within the trend catcher that you may or may not want to adjust to fit your personal style of trading.
The first of those settings is under 2b Parameters, 01. Trend measurement. This setting is set to default 10 in the template, but if you want the Trend Catcher to flip a little slower and filter some chop, then you can try setting it on 15.
The second setting that you may want to adjust is the 2b Parameters 02. Smoothing number of ticks. It is set to default 0 in the template. You can change it to 1 if you want it to flip a bit slower.
In both of these settings, the higher the number, the slower the TC will flip. This will help filter out a bit more chop, (notice I said a bit). The lower the number, the faster the TC will flip.
Another setting I get asked about a lot is the 2c Trend Confirmation. What do the confirmation settings need to be? This is an easy question. For 5 mins (and for 20 mins)…Set to FALSE and forget about it. Those trades move so quickly, you do NOT want the confirmation to be on EVER.
