swing entry on NQ
I’m not immune to chasing bad setups, and this was a bad setup
I definitely didn’t have my head in the game this afternoon, I continued to chase trades or make bad trading decisions.
Final trade of the day, a trend entry at the end of the day…I’ll be glad when this roll period is over and all of the volume is on one contract.
Great markups. I want to pick your brain if you dont mind lol. I see on the second to last post you took a swing trade and let it run for 16 ticks. What is it that you look for to keep you in a swing trade and let it run for a few more ticks? Is it volume? The fact that it was already a trend setup? Distant IZone and/or deviation level? I see a few others do this quite often, but not sure of what justifies it.
Thanks Jamell
On that particular trade, and forgive me because my text block kind of blocks it out, that swing high entry was immediately preceded by a trend entry. In those cases where there was a trend entry followed by a swing entry early in the trend, I will often let it run and trail it with the MVP predictor. I was really off my game today, so I wasn’t confident in many of the trades I took and got out of them earlier than I would normally and i also took trades in areas I would normally not take them. It happens sometimes and I usually bounce back quickly. Fortunately, I didn’t get hurt today, but I could have gone badly.
I hope that clears it up for you, but feel free to ask any questions you may have if it doesn’t. I tend to add a lot of my personal style to my trades so they can sometimes confuse people. I do try to tell people when I’m not following the rules.
Peter.
Makes perfect sense now. I was sure that style had something to do with it. Every once in a while I have to pick the minds of the greats!
LOL, Anytime my friend.
Greats?..that may be a stretch for me , I’m still at the very beginning of my new found career, but that is a huge compliment and I thank you for it.
