Anyone trading Futures with Alchemy?

Hello Traders,

I trade Crude Oil (CL), Nasdaq 100 (NQ), and Dow (YM) Futures and wondered if anyone is trading these instruments with the new Alchemy system. If so, I have a few questions which I am going to look at myself but just wanted some feedback from others.

  1. Are you using 8/10/5 continuum bars or 3/12/15 continuum bars?

  2. Do you only trade in the direction of the new 132 Trend Flip line (if you’re using the new v2 template)?

  3. Do you normally exit a trade at a deviation level or when the MVP flattens out? Which have you found to be more profitable, etc.

  4. What are you using for your initial stop? Most recent swing hi/low?

Thanks.

Justin

Hello Justin,

A word to the wise. If you are new to trading, please stick with the IZSS sytem and Nadex Spreads. Learn that before you look into another trading system. You can do yourself more harm than good if you jump around before you know and live trade a system. If you have IZSS down… then welcome to Alchemy V2

I personally trade the NQ and YM with futures. For bar selection, I follow what Dom has written and use Diagonal Bars. Dom uses 12 tick, I prefer 10 tick for the NQ and YM. I do not trade Cl at present. Most folks in the Elite Room that trade the new Alchemy V2 use these bars and settings. At least that is what they are posting Regarding the 132 Volatility Trend Line, Most of my trades are with the direction of the 132. The only exception is when the market is moving toward the 132 AND the Apex Trend is likely to Flip from Long to Short or vise versa. For exits, I exit when the MVP Momentum Predator level is hit. I watch volume closely when coming upon a deviation level to look for clues to stay in or exit. Also where I am in relation to the Expected range limits. I only tighten my trailing stop when nearing a Deviation Level. This works the best for me and my style of trading. Lastly, initial stop loss is placed 10 to 15 ticks depending on how much volume we are experiencing… This fits my style of trading and works for me. Craig

Jhugh, Alchemy is technically still in Beta. But if you check out the Alchemy section under S10 here in the Forum you will see some discussion from people that ARE trading futures with Alchemy 2.0 You can also look under the forum section " You can do this and why you should" and will see multiple posts and charts that people are using and can converse with others in the Alchemy section as to what they are using
