Best groups for spreads

#1

If, a small trader wanted to do spreads, and wanted to get the spread scanner for 2 months for not much more than it would cost to get the scanner that covers all groups for 1. Which group would be the best? Indices, Commodities or Forex. And, are there any within that group that would not be good to trade. thanks

Probably would focus on forex if just picking one group and want the most things to trade…

Forex will give you 8 pairs all 8 are good to trade with good premium and bid/ask spreads and all tick like the underlying Forex is best beetween 3 am and 11 AM (usually very little movement from 6 to 12 - sometimes there is movement on news etc…) (12 am to 3 am and 11 am to 3 pm can vary in volatility)

Indices gives you 7 indices - The 3 to focus on are US 500, Small Cap 2000, and Wall Street 30 Nikkei ticks correctly but has very large bid/ask spreads and limited trading hours at night FTSE, Germarny 30 and US Tech 100 skip ticks and I avoid them

Indices are best to trade anytime that countries market is open - but same as forex 3-11 is often when the most volume happens most reliable predictable moves that are large 11-4:15 will have more oscillation that can be harder to trade)

Commodities gives you Gold, Silver, Copper, Oil, Natural Gas, Corn & Soybeans Gold, Corn and Soybeans (Gold is usually good but if premium is high focus on the ATM spreads, on Corn/Soybeans they tick really well but hours are limited and spreads are a bit wider as they are less liquid just like on the cme corn is less liquid) Oil Natural Gas (Good if doing ATM spreads like i teach for apex but premium on the floor/ceiling spreads can be high) Silver Copper (Skip ticks i avoid them) Commodities are usually 7 am to 11 am - as late as 2;30 pm is usually the best time to trade them

Thanks, Darrell Heard that there are long time traders who only focus on one or 2. Such as just the Euro. That might be a good plan for a beginner. To really learn and get to know a few. Than, try to trade several. He can always expand later. It would be fewer trades, but smarter ones. Quality over Quantity.

Yes but they traded a lot of markets mastered a few to narrow it down

The issue is fx moves one day commodities the next and indices the next so it is good to have at least four markets they watch as you become more advanced you can narrow it down to 1 or 2 out market analyzer makes it easy to watch all Nadex markets at once

Is the market analyzer the spread scanner?

No the spread scanner scans spreads on the nadex market live on our website.

The market analyzer is in ninjatrader for scanning for apex entries
