I guess Nadex got tired of me making good money off these ICs.
Tried to close my order for a profit before the market opened, but I guess around that time, Nadex decided to go offline for about an hour. And of course the NQ shot up 18 points in that time frame
Luckily when I was finally able to get back in, I was able to take almost max profit on one side of the IC, and followed a downtrend on the other side to reduce my loss by a little bit.
I got out for $106 on one contract around 8:30. Was going to hold it till 9:30 but im like why the hell am i going to do that when im normally looking for 20-30 b4 market open and i got over 3times that much. So i’m glad i didn’t give in to greed.
Dang… I tried to sell right before 9. 20 minutes sooner and I wouldve been fine.
Totally understand about the greed, had we held it wouldve been ugly. NQ has fallen like 30 points in the past hour…
Actually that wouldve worked out great in my favor, because I was already out of the upper part of the IC for almost max profit. Lolol. Oh well… A profit is a profit
I rlly like getting out b4 market open. Like i took $18 on YM and $19 on US 500 bcus i was only a couple dollars away form my profit goal and i didn’t wana hold it all day with earnings in play.
That is why you get out once you collect enough premium. My BE was @ 4681.75. So if i held it would’ve went to my BE on the chart but i wouldn’t get stopped out on the indicative bcus the indicative didn’t get to 4681.750…Then it went right back into my profit zone and i could take profit on both sides.
So it’s rlly not that sketchy. Worst case u get out for a loss on one side and profit on the other. And earnings is wat moved the market that much so that was expected. That’s why you wana take the premium you have b4 market open @LOANEDKERNAL
@ Renzo… There were referring to the entire exchange being down for over hour this morning… not the trade
@ Loaded… Im sure it happens… but what concerns me the most, is there is no way to exit orders. Im stumped that they wont close orders manually. What if I had lost money on this trade??? If my power goes out and Im trading, I can at least log into Nadex via a laptop or tablet and close the order… but with what happened this morning… I just sat there.
Ohh yea they need to figure out a way to assist ppl when shit like that happens on their end. U wud be fucked if you were in a trade that goes against you and u cnt get out bcus the platform is down.
But thanks for all the advice on making sure we get out early ion these Daily ICs. I have been tempted to stay in once the market opens just because there is still so much premium still left. But as we know, anything can happen.
Can never complain about profit (which is usually the result of these)
