For those of you that have been waiting to trade 5-Minute Binary Contracts on Nadex, the day has arrived! You may have been trying your trading strategies out in your demo account this past week.
Trading of 5-Minute Binary Contracts on GBP/USD, EUR/USD, AUD/USD and USD/JPY began at 9:30 am ET on Monday, December 15, 2014. These new contracts expire every five minutes and will be available to trade continuously during Nadex Exchange open hours from Sunday at 6 pm ET through Friday at 3:00 pm ET. Three strike levels are listed for each 5-Minute Intraday Binary Contract Series.
Strike widths are tight with only three ticks wide on GBP/USD, EUR/USD and USD/JPY. There are four ticks in the strike width on AUD/USD.
Due to a possibility of a duplicate strike level conflict, there will not be an Intraday 5-Minute Currency Binary contract which would expire on the hour listed for the duration of the week of December 15, 2014. Therefore, the next expiration to follow the 9:55 am expiration would be at 10:05 am. Likewise, the next expiration to follow the 10:55 am expiration would be at 11:05 am, and so forth.
Since first announcing its plans of offering 5-Minute Binary Contracts, Nadex has found it necessary to make some revisions in order to provide the best possible product for its members. The rounding value has been corrected to be 0.0001 for AUD/USD, EUR/USD and GBP/USD and 0.01 for USD/JPY. This revised rounding value will enable better at-the-money strike levels.
Trading the new 5-Minute Binary Contracts should be exciting news for you as a trader for many reasons. First of all, it is comforting to be able to trade 5-Minute CFTC regulated binaries which before were not available in the United States. Further, if you are a trader with limited time or a tight schedule, it will be easier to place some trades. With expirations every five minutes, you can find a potential trade on your lunch break, in the morning before work, in the evening after work, or just about anytime you can sneak in a few minutes for trading.
