Nt7 popup

#1

I just installed the indicators/templates shortly after NT7 gave me a pop up that said Advisory#24 SI and HG price has changed. Is there something I need to do now? If so, how? Or does it adjust whatever on it’s own?

Thanks

On August 9, 2014 CQG & Continuum internally updated their price format for the HG and SI instruments which require an update to the instrument definitions

If you downloaded NinjaTraderâ„¢ 7.0.1000.25 on or before August 13, 2014 you are using an instrument database which holds the old instrument definitions for these instruments. If you had installed that release please uninstall it at this time using the directions below. Once uninstalled, you need to download and install the updated NinjaTraderâ„¢ release using the instructions below. If you did not upgrade your NinjaTraderâ„¢ installation to the current release previously, we do suggest that you update at this time. Please note that the NinjaTrader Historical Data servers will still record at the incorrect price format until our August 15, 2014 maintenance window where we will correct the issue and restore the correct data. Directions to Uninstall NinjaTraderâ„¢

From the Start menu select -> Control Panel -> Add and Remove Programs. From Add and Remove Programs select NinjaTraderâ„¢ 7 and click Remove. Then you will need to clear your internet browser cache and history. You will clear this from within your internet browser. *Please note that that above the steps will not impact your charts, workspaces, custom indicators, or any other NinjaTraderâ„¢ settings Directions to Install NinjaTraderâ„¢ and Reset Instruments

Once the uninstall steps are completed you can download and install NinjaTrader™ 7 from the link below:
Click on the following link and follow the prompts http://www.NinjaTrader.com/download-registration.php Once the install completes please start up NinjaTrader 7 and before connecting to your provider please go to Control Center -> “Tools” Menu -> “Options…” Menu Item. Select the “Data” tab and press the “Reset Instruments” button “Please note that all instrument definitions will be reset to the most up to date version in the latest install” When prompted, restart NinjaTrader and your instruments will be up-to-date

Really simple. Just open NT and DON’T connect to data feed. Go to “tools” and “Options” and hit “Data” then hit “Reset Instruments” and youre done

I tried this and even reinstalled it. The only thing I didn’t try was deleting my internet browser history. Sadly, I don’t want to do that just yet. Maybe I can download it from a different browser I don’t use like IE? Hopefully it fixes it.

Actually, If you were able to “reset instruments” you should be fine. The date on the SI, HG update was 8/15 which prob means that’s when they started working on in, but probably won’t be noticeable until the metals open Monday. Are you just wondering about SI and HG or are you having probs with NT? The browser you downloaded NT from should not matter

It will take care of itself on Monday…

Okay sounds good Thanks, it was just the HG and SI I was worried about and the reason I asked about the browser was because the post said “Then you will need to clear your internet browser cache and history. You will clear this from within your internet browser.”

But, cool thanks again I just see what happens Monday.

HG is resolved. NT is working on historical data for SI still. I was advised it will probably take the rest of this week to fix the data. If your using CQG (if your using IQ Feed or Kinetick you should not be having an issue with SI - if your using IQ Feed for futures data). But if you have CQG looks like it will not be till the weekend as they have to take all the servers down to fix the old data. They are very aware of the issue and are working to resolve it.

Those instructions where posted under the study indicators apex support section (for future reference)
