I live on the west coast what is best times to trade nadex oil spreads. thanks todd

What system (rules for entry and exit are you using)?

Crude oil moves the most between 8 AM and 11 AM ET. This may or may not be good depending on the system you use to trade. Be careful during oil inventory reports on Wednesday

I want to use the apex system trading as if it were a futures contract. thanks todd

That works well then being on the west coast as you can get up early and take advantage of the big hours then head off to work (if you working maybe retired or already a trader). ie an East coast trader who has a job can’t trade those hours as they are at work already so they have to focus on early early AM ie 3 am to 7 am - or night time trading if they can not trade morning session. Since Apex is medium trend trading you want the most volatility you can get. Also we now have added a Expected range indicator which shows you volatility by hour when applied to an hourly chart.

As you can see in this example where the big trends happens (gold line at bottom expected move - blue dashed line actual move)

But that does not limit you as you can see there are good moves earlier and later in the day just not much movement usually in the evening on oil. Its not a apex thing its a oil thing…
