I setup a new computer today. I am trying to add instruments to the default list. Mainly CL and CG. I found the CL, tried to add it, got as far as Instrument Editor and don’t know what to put in the field that says “Master instrument” It tells me I must set a value. I don’t know what to do here.
Next, tried to add the CG - same for the gold.
That is where I am stuck and need help please.
[i]TIP: anytime you have a new computer (laptop, desktop, cloud or otherwise) you will have to repeat installing nt7, putting in the key, adding amp and fxcm data feeds, and building your instrument default list.
If this is another computer you will need a new key, a new login on fxcm, a new long on amp. (ie if you are going to have the old one and the new one.
You don’t need to edit an instrument to add it. The only editing we suggest is the session template to make it default to 24x7

Note you can skip to it if you’ve completed the course. If your course has been reset for some reason then just retake the quizzes to advanced to the video you don’t have to sit through each video (even though all videos combined on that course are like 30 minutes total). If you can’t pass the quickly you need to rewatch the video.
The steps are outlines below for you watch the instrument video if this is not sufficient
Click Tools Click Instrument Manager Type CL in the name field Click Search Now click on the CL contract whos descriptions says Light sweet crude (optional and suggested click on edit - then change the session template to default 24x7 - click ok) Click the little left arrow to put it on your instrument list
Now Type GC in the name field Click Search Now click on the GC contract whose description says Comex Gold Futures (optional and suggested click on edit - then change the session template to default 24x7 - click ok) Click the little left arrow to put it on your instrument list
Click OK
When rolling over a future to a new month Just click on the instrument in your default list Click the right arrow Then click the left arrow and it will update
