Hi All,
I’m a newb to trading. Been demo’ing the past few nights on the Nadex platform with the IZ SS system. I’m trading the box spreads.
Had a general question. I notice that upon entering each trade I am already in the negative at least 4-6 bucks because of the bid/ask spread.
Is this unavoidable? Or am I making a bad decision somewhere?
I’m thinking its the former, but I wanted to verify with some more experienced traders in the event this can be avoided somehow and perhaps I am just unaware.
Appreciate the help!
You are correct. Its one of the unavoidable things with trading
Welcome Aaron. This is one of the few drawbacks to using Nadex. You have to cover the Bid/Ask Spread before you can be Profitable. However, the advantages more than cover the Disadvantages. With Nadex Spreads you have Capped Risk. Thus smaller margins are required. Little capital is required to Live Trade and when your account is larger enough you can enjoy the rewards of Futures without the Risk by using multi-contracts. Be sure to use as close a Proximity as possible and as long a expiration as your Account will allow for your contract selection. Happy Trading.
Thanks guys! I really appreciate the feedback.
That’s great - I thought I was doing something incorrectly, but its just something to contend with in trading. Fair enough!
