I have been studying and demo trading iron condors with some success. I am curious if @darrell is still trading these outside of news events? I have not seen anything new on them in quite a while, and it seems that premiums are quite low and the cost of binaries for possible hedging is quite high.

Most times they are used for news, which can cause some volatility and create premium ahead of time that can be planned for etc. Darrell does also do them outside of news at times, but only when the markets get volatile and you can see that premium built into pricing. But you have to also keep in mind that when the markets ARE volatile like that and the premium is there, that is not always the best times for Iron Condors, since the markets can move. Darrell does at tIMES do them in this situation but prefers to trade directionally taking advantage of spotting te volatile reversals using things like IZSS and VAD to spot these possible reversal points
