Troubleshooting The Elite Trade Room

#1

Did you sign up for the Apex Investing Open House but are having trouble entering the Elite Trading room? Here are a few helpful tips.

This link will install an alternate version for Windows. You’ll need to choose “Run” and then allow access past any security prompts. Important note: If at ANY point you see a message about connecting via a PROXY, instead choose DIRECTLY and click OK. Close hotComm CL and wait for two full minutes. Then, right mouse click on the yellow hotComm CL icon and choose “Run as Administrator.”

Tips for the Best performance of hotComm CL:

  • Every day, before connecting through the Apex Investing link, launch the application through the program shortcut on your PC’s desktop. Right mouse click on the yellow hotComm CL icon and select “Run as Administrator.” (Windows 10 will have an option for MORE and an arrow to select “Run as Administrator.”)

  • Starting hotComm CL first gives you a slightly higher level of permissions, allows it to connect to their network and internet. A headset next to your computer clock alerts you to connection and tells you “hotComm CL Ready.”

  • Then, go to www.ApexInvesting.com. Enter your username and password to connect through our portal following the links through “Elite Trade Room Access.” The first time you enter, you should get a big black CONNECT button. Click once allowing hotComm’s *.HCURL protocol handler to “Run” or “Open.” Be sure to close out of the CONNECT button once you’re in the Elite Room.

Adjusting screens with charts To adjust screens displaying charts, click “Session” at the top of the “S1 ApexInvestingETR” chat portion of the application. Then check the option for “Minimize New Moderator Charts.” Charts will populate in the task bar allowing you to choose to keep, resize or discard. Default sizing is 1X. This can be changed to a smaller size ½, ¾, etc., which may be better for a laptop.

Reboot/Recycle Modem & Router Bi-monthly recycling of your internet will improve the TCP/IP connection used by hotComm. To do this, simply power down all computers in your network. Unplug the modem and/or router from the A/C power source. Leave unplugged for 10 minutes. Plug back in. Wait for all lights to blink normally before starting up computers.
