How to draw magnet lines globally so they appear on your trading charts as well as the magnet chart

#1

Here is a way that you can draw your magnet lines just once and have them appear on all or most of your charts.

This will save you time as you only have to draw the lines once and they will appear on all the trading charts you want to see them on. And when you remove them, they are also automatically removed from all your charts at the same time.

This assumes you have already created your 10 minute magnet chart.

Go draw your first extended line on your magnet chart. Once drawn, right click on the first line you drew. Select properties. First set the line to the color, style and width that you will most commonly use. Then under Attach to: choose (All charts) in the drop down menu. Then choose Set Default. Then choose OK

From this point on every new extended line that you draw will automatically show up on all charts of the same market and contract.

So if you drew the line on a 8/15 CL chart, then it will appear on all 8/15 CL charts.

This will only apply to any NEW lines you draw from this point forward.

(IMPORTANT NOTE: Keep in mind that these lines are now “Global” If you are on a different chart than the magnet chart you used to set the line, say your 12 tick Diagnostic Bars Trend Catcher Chart that you are trading off of, and if you delete the line or change its color, style, width or any settings on it, you have done that across ALL the charts that particular line appears on.)

If you already have some magnet lines drawn you have two choices. You can either delete them all and re-draw them now that you have set the default to handle all the settings for you. Or you will have to select each one and change its properties as above making sure you select apply and then ok after you change each line. Those you don’t change will only appear on the chart they were originally drawn on.

If you have a chart that you dont want the lines to appear on, you can go into Data Series on that particular chart. Under the Visual setting make sure that Show Global Draw Objects is set to False. Now you will only see objects on that chart which were drawn on that exact chart.

If you don’t wish for a line you are drawing to appear on all charts, just right click on that line choose properties and change the setting from (All charts) to the choice above that, On CL it will just be CL and the name of your chart.
